i am a ghost and i have been banished
i am a ghost and i have been banished
i am a ghost and i have been banished by your faith
i have been banished by your faith and your doubt
by your reason and your mysticism
i am a ghost and i have been banished by your philosophers
and your priests
your science and your religion
i am a ghost and i have been exorcised and disproved
occam’s razor has cut me to the quick
bell book and candle have sent me hence
i am a ghost and i have been banished from your
fears and your hopes and your home and your streets
i am a ghost and i can be banished by any and all
for ever and aye from anywhere everywhere
i am a ghost and i am still here
still right here
the cold twist in the heart of your summer
the twitch in the sleeper’s prone form
that cold twist in your heart
and i am a ghost
and all may attend my trial and stand in evidence
of my nonexistence and gladly will i fade away
as ghosts often do, by light of day
and i am a ghost and
i am a ghost and i have been banished
am i a ghost and have i
and have i been
banished
